For those unfamiliar with Flag Pond cake walk.
Several sequenced numbers are placed in a large circle on the Old Flag Pond Gym floor and matching numbers are placed in a hat or basket.
The kids and adults each pick a marked spot to stand on around the circle, then some music is started and the kids and adults walk clockwise on the marked spots around the Gym floor circle while the music is playing. The person handling the music periodically stops the music and the kids and adults then stay on whatever spot they are on.
One of the Sponsors of the cake walk then draws from the hat or basket, and the person standing on that number is the winner. Cakes are given to the winners, and the game is repeated until all the cakes are given out.

Spaghetti with hearty meat pasta sauce, garlic bread slices, green salad tossed with dressing, iced tea and beverages, etc.

| The annual Flag Pond Spaghetti Supper and cake walk was, again, a huge success! The Cake Walk was terrific for both kids and adults, tasty cake to lucky cake walk winners.

Take a scenic panorama drive of the Unaka Mountain, Tennessee
The Mountain drive takes you on a 30 mile loop of the Unaka Ranger District of the
Cherokee National Forest
. As you travel through Unicoi County you will see some of the most beautiful scenery in Tennessee.

Unaka Mountain Overlook ----- The elevation here is nearly a mile high and look to the right to see portions of Erwin.

Unaka Mountain Wilderness --------- Look for deer, bear, and turkey that are seen here. Motorized vehicles is prohibited but camping, hiking, hunting, and other activities are allowed.

Indian Grave Gap ------ It is possible to stand in two states and two national forests
( Cherokee National Forest - TN.
and Pisgah National Forest - NC ) from here the famous
Appalachian Trail
that runs from Maine to Georgia.

Rock Creek Recreation Area ----- Enjoy the clear, cool water of the swimming area.
